A CALL TO THE RIGHTEOUS

A CALL TO THE RIGHTEOUS

It is written in the Old Testament that during the Exodus Jews were awed by a sound emanating from a great cloud on Mount Sinai (Exodus 19).  That sound is liken to the sound of a religious instrument called the Shofar (Ram’s horn).  Since biblical times the Shofar has been used for many purposes among which is the call to holy days, holidays, and even is alleged to bring down the walls of Jericho.  The Shofar has always been used to alert and assemble the people.  It is a clarion call.

In light of recent events, I propose it is time to used the Shofar as a call for righteous Americans to open religious services by the sound of the Shofar this Sabbath and every Sabbath service in every House of Worship of every religion across these United States.  That simple act would be a signal that people of good faith, together, will not stand for political hatred, divisive rhetoric, racism and nationalistic violence, fostered and prevalent in our society.  Let the calling by the Shofar be continued until civility and mutual respect is returned to our Republic and Democracy.

THE FUTURE BEGINS TODAY!
