THE ISSUES, THE VOTES, INFORMATION AND YOUR INVOLVEMENT

The following pages present the informational data base for the DOLLAR BILL BRIGADE. The BRIGADE has endeavored to meet two objectives with this information—simplicity and comprehensively accurate material.

There will ultimately be two sets of basic data, one set for the primaries, another set after the primary process, reflecting the outcome and updated for the November general election. Both sets will have information on the incumbent and the challengers of both major parties.

Each set will contain a spreadsheet for the Senate races and another for the House of Representatives. Each spreadsheet will contain the following information:

-The state the incumbent represents

-The congressional district of the incumbent House member (House only)

-The name of the incumbent

-The percentage of the “vote cast” in the last election which elected the incumbent

The vote of the incumbent is reflected in the cell either as an Y for yea, N for nay, A for abstain, and a blank if the representative was not in office at the time of the vote.

The spreadsheets will be updated periodically with current data and sort improvements.  As the spreadsheets evolve the user will be able to click on the state, the incumbent’s name, or the issue column to obtain the following sorts and/or information:

-A click on the state, name, or issue column head will sort the complete spreadsheet alphabetically, ascending or descending, predicated on that column’s content

-On the House spreadsheet, a click on the state column will sort the spreadsheet by state abbreviation and congressional district

A click on the state/congressional district cell will bring up a screen containing contact/contribution information for the incumbent and the same party primary challengers as well as the primary candidates of the major opposition party. A click on the incumbent’s name will likewise bring up the secondary informational screen.

Please note the following: The Senate “% WIN” information is predicated on the 2010 general election which was the last election for the incumbent Senators. The House election information was as of the 2014 election . Although a bill subject maybe the same in the Senate and the House, there maybe substantive differences between the versions at the time of the roll call vote.  When the primary process is completed the winning candidates will be integrated into the BRIGADE’S second set of spreadsheets.
