A year ago I sent you and the campaign staff a note about how effective you were in bringing forth relevant issues to the public forefront. I too believe issues are what we are all concerned about and years ago developed the DOLLAR BILL BRIGADE.com web site to educate the public. Your developed movement within the campaign had great promise to build an organization regardless of the election process outcome. An organization of that nature could represent an ongoing political relationship with the voting public and a base to democratically change the existing political paradigm as and when warranted. Much has happened since those campaign days with the outcome sadly disappointing. However, we are in the “here and now” and it is the future which we should be addressing. The public is thirsty for support, methods, information, goal setting, direction and leadership to enhance democratic principles, objectives and personal interests. This public is not exclusively related to a specific party, like yourself they are not just Democrats!
The surviving remnants of your movement, Our Revolution.com, appears to have all the characteristics of the “Occupy Wall Street” movement. It is an ant trying to eat an elephant for breakfast! What kind of voter base are they trying to build? Who are they trying to get elected, members of congress or the local sheriff? There are millions of voters and non-voters who can be turned on with the right message and direction.
The convention outcome created the Our Revolution organization thus providing a select group the opportunity to pursue personal power and financial resources under the guise of political change. In my estimation the Revolution appears to use a shotgun approach in tactics and lacks focus. I question its’ effectiveness when I can envision over 50 million people the Revolution has missed and when it is competing with many other activist groups which are usurping the Revolution base. That is my analysis. If the movement is to survive and be effective, someone will have to do some soul searching, otherwise the movement will fade away.
