I am a selfish person. I don’t give a rat’s ass about anything that doesn’t affect me directly. I don’t give a shit about who’s meeting with whom, or who’s running Turkey and I don’t care if some frigging country is going bankrupt! What I do give a damn about is the stuff that affects me! I don’t like it when a guy uses my toilet, pisses on the floor and doesn’t flush. That’s how I feel about what’s happening.
During the great recession, I lost my home and my job. Before that things were going great and I didn’t even bother to vote. I spent eight years getting back and then in ’16, I voted for Trump to drain the swamp and make things “great again” for me. Well all that has turned out to be crap!
I finally got back to my construction job a couple of years ago but without a full benefit package. I signed up with Obamacare and last year the premium went up about 40%. Now they tell me it won’t even be available next year. That means my 20 year old kid with asthma will be without the family insurance and unable to get coverage due to his pre-existing condition. The way things are going I just hope my old man’s Social Security/Medicare along with mom’s nursing home Medicaid coverage won’t be cut or stopped! All this is happening at the same time my overtime got cut because of material cost increases due to the tariffs on imported steel and aluminum. Speaking of tariffs, my married kid is moving in with us because the price of the home they wanted to buy went up 10% due to a tariff on lumber and increases in loan rates, and they tell me my pickup may cost 6 grand more because of tariffs. Hell of a way to help the middle class!
With all this crap going on and this political bull shit, you can bet your ass I’m going to vote and it’s not going to be for some ass hole who’s going to make America great again and drain the swamp. Con me once, shame on you, con me again, I get pissed off!
